1. Which terms apply for adding a thesis to HvA Kennisbank?

You can add a thesis to the collection if the following two conditions are met:

  • You have written a thesis as part of a HvA Bachelor’s programme.
  • Your thesis has been graded with a sufficient mark by a HvA Bachelor’s programme.

The HvA Bachelor’s programme decides for itself which mark is sufficient for a thesis to be added to HvA Kennisbank.

2. How can I add my thesis to HvA Kennisbank?

The theses are added to HvA Kennisbank by the librarians of the Library. Thesis supervisors supply the Library with digital copies.

3. Copyright

By signing the assignment document, the student relinquishes all rights to the copyright on all products produced as part of traineeships or other research/assignments. All copyright is owned by the HvA University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam, unless stated otherwise in a written agreement by both parties.
In the latter case the student needs to grant permission to the Library. Contact the Library via bibliotheek@hva.nl

4. Theses and privacy

The theses in HvA Kennisbank and HBO Kennisbank are published open access, meaning that they are there for the whole world to read. Sensitive information relating to privacy should therefore be removed from the thesis. For example:

  • Your own contact details
  • Details relating to respondents who participated in your research
  • Sensitive business information relating to your trainee post.

For further information, please check the entry Scriptieadvies (in Dutch) on MijnHvA.nl.

5. Which services are offered by HvA Kennisbank?

An archive containing digital theses
An interface allowing users to search by and browse through the bibliographical data (metadata) of all archived theses.
A permalink (URL) to the full text of the thesis in the archive.
Schools and Bachelor’s programmes may link to a page giving an overview of relevant theses on their website.

6. How are the theses made available?

The theses are made available in the nationally covered HBO Kennisbank via the HvA Kennisbank.

7. More information?
